DeleteIt is about a boy named Foster and his widowed mother in Alabama. The father has just recently died and the mother has a man friend whom Foster dislikes greatly. Then a stranger shows up and stays to help fix up the farm so they can sell it. There is some violence in it but it was very enjoyable.

ReplyDeleteKaitlyn, I haven't been keeping track of the number of books I've read. I just have three or four going at the same time, and every night I pick the one that sparks my fancy at the moment and read it for an hour or so before I go to sleep. My days have been very busy this summer, so I haven't spent as much time reading outside as I normally like to do....but there's still time!! Right now I am rereading one of my all time favorite books, My Antonia, by Willa Cather. It's a bit like Little House on the Prairie but for grown-ups!
